New Zealand holds world record for Douglas Fir Growth rates

November 19th, 2010

Research carried by NZ Forest Research has shown that Douglas-fir can grow exceptionally well in moist areas of the Canterbury High Country. In fact the highest recorded growth rates of Douglas-fir in the world (about 40 cubic metres/ha/yr.) were measured from a stand near the head of Lake Ohau. This compares well with good growth rates for radiata pine and is well ahead of the highest Douglas-fir growth rates recorded in North America at about 22 cubic metres/ha/yr.(Source:Ledgard, N. Natural Help for Healthier Blood Flow with Enzogenol

New in-vitro research from a Korean University suggests that Enzogenol could have significant benefits in atherosclerosis by reducing associated inflammatory events, and thereby improving blood vessel health. This new research confirmed Enzogenol’s potential as a natural therapeutic with anti-inflammatory and anti-atherogenic effects (Kim, D.S. et al J Agric Food Chem 58: 7088; 2010).

Professor Young-Hee Kang from the Department of Food and Nutrition, Hallym University, Chuncheon, Korea investigated the effects of Enzogenol on inflammatory processes that initiate atherosclerosis, which often advances to downstream cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack and stroke.

Results from cell culture experiments showed that Enzogenol inhibits key events in the atherosclerotic process by modulating monocyte adhesion and transmigration. These are events that take place inside our blood vessels when atherosclerotic plaques are formed which leads to the narrowing of arteries and results in a high risk of heart disease and stroke.

Professor Kang’s research suggests that Enzogenol could work as a natural anti-inflammatory and may reduce the inflammatory events that are important starting points in many people at risk of cardiovascular disease.

Previous clinical research on Enzogenol showed improvements in endothelial function and inflammatory blood markers, namely plasma viscosity and fibrinogen levels (Shand et al, Young et al).

Fantastic News For Kids and Parents
Health practitioners have discovered Enzogenol, New Zealand Pine Bark Extract, as an effective nutritional to support children with symptoms of hyperactivity, attention deficits and behaviour problems.   Read the parents’ feedback below.

Several paediatricians specialising in the treatment of children with ABC disorders have found ENZO Professional, the Enzogenol formulation for health professionals, to be a very useful adjunct treatment for these kids. The ABC = Attention Behaviour Continuum comprises a number of conditions that include Attention Deficit Disorder, with and without Hyperactivity, Asperger’s Syndrome, Autism and other conditions that share similar behavioural phenotypes. Dr. Leila Masson (www.leilamasson.com) from the Mother-Well Clinic in Auckland, New Zealand had this to say about her experience:
“Enzogenol is a safe and effective alternative to medication for children with hyperactivity and problems concentrating. I have noticed improvements in my patients within a few weeks of starting this potent antioxidant. Parents and teachers consistently report that the children are calmer and more focused. I recommend a trial of Enzogenol for any child with features of ADHD or autism.”

The parents feedback has been great! More and more children are reaping the benefits of being calmer, more attentive and socialising much better with other kids.
